:.  Profile Sharon Bray

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sharon was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on 2nd October 1962. She lived there until the age of eight when, with her mother and two brothers, she moved to England, settling in Cheltenham. Sharon attended Arle School where she particularly enjoyed sports activities. Badminton was her favourite and she became a member of the school team, attending a school tournament in Germany.
On leaving school, Sharon moved back to South Africa. She stayed nine months, but decided not to remain there as the country was not as she remembered as a child. She retuned to England, settling in Evesham, Cheltenham.
After a few short-term jobs, Sharon began a valeting career, working for Nissan at Bredon Motors in Evesham. She stayed for a few years before moving on to the Tusk Group, but unfortunately was made redundant. At this point she decided to become a self-employed valeter and worked for Pershore Garage.
Sharon then made a career break and started up her own valeting business, renting an industrial unit in Pershore Trading Estate, attracting customers from garages and through local advertising.
After three years working for herself, Sharon moved back to a dealership – Robert Stern BMW – where she became team leader of four valeters. She went on to hold similar positions within Ford and LEX Land Rover, before finally settling with Broughtons, six years ago.
Sharon’s day begins at 6.45am, assisting the Service Department with car movements. She then organises the Sales cars, displaying them in front of the dealership and in the showroom. As each car is sold, Sharon completes a full valet, over which she pays particular attention to detail. She has access to a wide range of specialist cleaning materials for every type of wood and leather.
Sharon is an excellent asset to Broughtons and many customers ask to see her when they come into the dealership, either for advice or just for a chat.
Away from Broughtons Sharon enjoys her travelling, especially the four weeks she spent in Australia travelling the east coast sightseeing as much as she could. She squeezed in many activities – including snorkelling on the Barrier Reef – and would love to go back to explore more soon.
She enjoys her music, particularly that from the ’70s and ’80s and has recently seen Cher and Fleetwood Mac in concert, which was very enjoyable.
Sharon also enjoys walking with friends and when she can, tries to get away to the coast for the weekends.
Sharon has spent a lot of time renovating her home in Cheltenham, most of which she has completed herself.
Sharon particularly likes socialising with friends and family, eating out as often as she can!
