:. Olga Vojdaeva Brings Fresh and Vibrant New Talent to the Art World

Olga was born in Kerch in the Crimea to a father who works as a naval officer and a mother a design engineer for space design programmes. At the age of four Olga moved with her parents to Kamchatkan in the far east of Russia.
Olga’s artistic talents were picked up at a very early age whilst attending an art studio and she was accepted into art school at the tender age of eleven. She went on to study art in St Petersburg where she was given a comprehensive foundation in the history of art as well as painting, drawing and sculpture, both in traditional and abstract techniques.

In 1994 she moved to Wiltshire in England where she has continued to pursue her artistic career.
She takes her inspiration from the extreme environment and ever-changing landscapes of Kamchatka where she grew up as a child. The majority of Olga’s paintings are in acrylic on gesso and yarn panels. These materials enable her to explore both the fluidity and the sculptural qualities of the paint to create 3-D images in bold, vibrant colours and design. The paintings are a contrast of hot, rich oranges and reds offset by cool ultramarine. The coarse surface of the yarn is complemented by the smooth sheen of the paint and varnish which enables visual balance between the contrasting textures and vibrant colours of her work.
Olga has exhibited her work in many galleries. These include the Westminster Gallery in London and the Royal Institute of Painters in Birmingham where she exhibited with the National Acrylic Painters’ Association. She has also exhibited as a solo artist in the Gallery of Cirencester, Beechfield House in Corsham and the Highgate Gallery in London.
