New Park Manor
Built in the 1600s, New Park Manor stands within its own clearing
in the heart of the New Forest, where deer graze (and sometimes even
break into the gardens!) and ponies amble leisurely through the forest.
The Royal Hunting preserve was established by William the Conqueror in
1079; however, it was in 1666 that King Charles II made the manor his
favourite hunting lodge. Architectural features of the manor date back
to as early as 1070.
Today, New Park
Manor is traditional in style with classic furnishings, working
fireplaces and stunning views of the surrounding parklands and forest.
The hotel has many facilities including an outdoor heated swimming pool,
a fabulous spa with sensational open air gallery overlooking the forest
– due for completion in the summer of this year – extensive grounds and
excellent conference facilities. There is also the renowned Equestrian
Centre where guests can partake in a ‘pub’ ride; an hour’s trek through
the forest followed by a well-earned pub lunch in one of the forest’s
many country pubs, then returning to the hotel. For the novices there
are lessons with one of the qualified instructors.

The hotel has a licence to conduct civil ceremonies in a choice of
locations. There is the option to get married in the original dining
room which is surrounded by oak panelling, has an original Charles II
coat of arms above the fireplace, and boasts magnificent views over the
gardens and pool. Perhaps something smaller would be more suitable? The
hotel is also able to hold ceremonies in the Terrace Room which has a
dual aspect over the gardens and is flooded with sunlight. Then for
those of you who are planning a large gathering, or indeed a conference,
there is the New Forest Suite – a large room that can be divided into
two with a soundproof screen. It can hold large numbers. The New Forest
Suite has one wall of sliding doors that open onto a patio where it is
very pleasant to sit and enjoy the flora and fauna of the New Forest.
Even when the weather does not permit outdoor activities the views can
be enjoyed from the warmth of inside.
Walk through the New Forest amongst the ponies and the deer or bring
your mountain bikes if you enjoy more physical activities. However, you
might prefer a delicious New Forest cream tea before a roaring log fire.
Then an aperitif in the ultra-stylish Polo Bar before enjoying a
spectacular dining experience, created for you by our highly talented
master chef, Mark Davidson, in the oak panelled restaurant.
Enjoy the regal splendour of one of the four-poster bedded rooms, with
superb views out over the gardens and outdoor pool. Alternatively you
may wish to languish in a bubbly bath while watching the plasma TV
screen above the taps (in eight rooms only) in one of the contemporary
rooms in the new wing. The choice is yours!
New Park is the perfect venue for a relaxing weekend or simply somewhere
to spend a special celebration. Whatever the occasion, New Park Manor
not only provides an idyllic, tranquil location and impressive
facilities, but it also ensures that the standard of service is such
that you will enjoy a wonderfully unique experience and one you will
want to repeat.
