:.Yachting, and So Much More... |
|
|
If the allure of winter sun is
beckoning then boarding a superyacht and exploring the white sandy
beaches of a deserted island is as good as it gets. The world of the
superyacht is one of opulence. These are floating palaces where
unadulterated luxury doesn’t just include the best staff in the
world, the most sophisticated water toys or the crisp white linen
that makes for a sumptuous night’s sleep, most importantly it means
carrying guests away to enjoy the luxury of isolation.

Two thousand and
five saw the launch of a new private members’ club that provides all
the pleasures of the luxury yachting lifestyle without the stress
and financial burden of yacht ownership. PrivatSea is the world’s
first exclusive private members club for the discerning connoisseurs
of the yachting lifestyle. With a fleet of over 20 of the world’s
finest superyachts – including the legendary M.V. Alexander with its
41 state rooms and over 400 feet of unrivalled luxury – PrivatSea
offers supreme service and attention to detail for every Member’s
cruise.
From Persistence, a beautiful 100-foot sailing yacht, right up to
the 400-foot Alexander, the largest yacht in the world for private
charter, each yacht is equipped to cater precisely to the needs of
the Member and their guests. Chief Executive Philippe Lamblin
explains, “Whether it’s satellite communication, space for a
helicopter on deck or a Kyoto chef, every Member is assured of the
utmost attention to detail. Similarly, every Member enjoys bespoke
itineraries on cruises which are completely tailored to them.”
The Club’s
innovative points system provides Members with absolute transparency
of their expenditures. And what’s more, although PrivatSea’s focus
is on superyachts, it can provide its Members with a door to deck
travel service. Chauffeur driven cars can collect a Member and their
guests from their home, take them to a convenient airport, where
they can board a private jet to take them directly to their
destination. No checking in and no fitting in to airline schedules,
the service provides the world’s most prized luxury – time and
space.
PrivatSea’s points system also gives Members a cashless, hassle-free
way to use the club’s fleet of yachts, jets, and private villas. All
cruising itineraries, including transfers arranged by the Club, are
fully inclusive and once on board Members have access to some of the
most desirable, private and ‘off limits’ places. Crew are on hand 24
hours a day to indulge guests, although Mr Lamblin says, “every
guest enjoys different levels of pampering. One guest recently
requested that the crew left her to pour her own drinks, fold up her
own newspapers and pick up her own towels after a swim in the
onboard pool!”
Onshore services
include everything from accommodation at a selection of prestigious
villas to honorary guest access at some of the most prestigious
private members’ clubs around the world. PrivatSea Club can also
open doors and offer complimentary access to bespoke by-invitation
experiences and events such as the PrivatSea table at the Racing
Drivers’ Gala Dinner at the F1 Grand Prix in Monaco or the PrivatSea
box at the Tennis Masters Series Monte Carlo.

A trip with PrivatSea is as close to owning your own yacht as you
will ever get – while onboard, Members are treated as though the
yacht is their very own. Itineraries are planned to the finest
detail to ensure every need is catered for and absolute discretion
is one of the values that PrivatSea prides itself most highly on.
Membership can be arranged quickly and efficiently so PrivatSea
Members can use its services straight away. After an initial joining
fee of 18,000 euros, Members can choose one of four membership tiers
to invest in, from 150,000 euros for an Intro membership up to 1.2
million euros for a Cobalt membership. The investment is converted
into points which can be used in a number of ways – either on one
trip that includes all transfers by land, air and sea, and of course
including access to exclusive establishments that PrivatSea has
developed partnerships with (such as the Automobile Club de Monaco,
which currently has an eight-year waiting list). Alternatively, the
Member may prefer to use just a portion of their investment and make
their own way to one of PrivatSea’s fabulous yachts, thus leaving
more points available to enjoy a number of special trips throughout
the year.
Jens Horneman, Marketing Director of the Club concludes, “PrivatSea
is all about creating the most exclusive and bespoke service for its
Members so that their holiday is effortless and seamless – the
definition of true luxury.”
